The credit for finding this costume goes to my best friend, who passed it along to me. She too shares an obsession with cupcakes and is thinking about buying this Hostess Cupcake Costume to be as cute as a cupcake for Halloween. It is from The Lingerie Closet and is $43.50 without shipping.

One of the things I like about the internet is that one site leads you to another and then another and before you know it you have come across so many sites that you have tons of bookmarks. In my case you also end up with more recipes from blogs then you will ever have time to make. That is how I came across Culinary Concoctions by Peabody. Which always has delicious looking recipes, many of which are cupcakes. One of the most recent posts was for Cinnamon Sour Cream Cupcakes with Oatmeal Raisin Buttercream Frosting. To me they sound like a delicious hybrid between sour cream coffee cake with oatmeal raisin cookies combined in the form of cupcakes. Peabody made them in the form of cute little minis. An additional benefit of getting recipes off blog is that the trial and error part has been done and recorded for you so you know what mistakes to avoid.

If you do not have the time to make your own cupcake costume, you can always count on Etsy for something homemade. Devaniweaver has created a Pink Cupcake Dress with sprinkles and a cherry. I love that it the bottom half really looks like a aluminum cupcake liner. The dress is $175.00, remember someone put a lot of hard work and time into this cupcake creation.

Unlike some cupcake undergarments there are no actual cupcakes this time. Here cupcake is only used in the title. I thought I’d post it anyway since Elle Macpherson Intimates are always elegant and if you are wearing it under your clothes you will still know that what you have on has to do with what you love, cupcakes! The Elle Macpherson Cupcake Collection has two bra and two underwear styles to choose from. I found them on Zodee, which is offering a special, buy the bra and get the matching underwear free. I also know that Nordstroms carries Elle Macpherson Intimates, the website did not show the cupcake line but you could always check with your local store. And just to mention, since October is breast cancer awareness month, Nordstroms has a special where for every bra you buy in one of their stores they donate $2.oo to support Susan G. Komen for the cure. So you could buy the bra and get something free for you or buy a bra and do something good for others.

Halloween is just a little over a month away which means you can begin getting ready for holiday events, haunted houses, costume parties, and school parties. Michaels Craft Stores has a great selection of wrappers including these two Halloween options provided by Martha Stewart. There are Skull and Spider wrappers which have so much detail they are a little spooky.
and there is also Witch cupcake wrappers that come in beautiful colors to match the fall foliage.
The two wrapper styles are available at Michael’s stores, not online. The Martha Stewart Baking section at my local Macy’s had an additional wrapper style.

Not too long ago we had a post about the anniversary of Hostess Cupcakes and when I came across this over the weekend I wished I had found it sooner! A Hostess cupcake coin purse from Fred Flare. The coin purse is $18 and according to the description, there is a fun inside pattern that is red and white hearts.

What better way to let someone far away know you’re thinking about them then by sending them some mail the old fashion way. Cupcake Stationary is the perfect alternative to plain paper and will without a doubt make the recipients day. Who wouldn’t smile at the sight of a cupcake?

If there is one thing I believe it’s that cupcakes really do make people happy. They are the perfect way to bring a smile to someones face. That is why I love this print from YeeHaw Industries.

On their etsy site, they offer a mini calendar version for the 2010 year, perfect for those of us who like to get buying our Christmas gifts early.

Halloween always comes up quickly once it becomes October and since it is September, that means it is time to get thinking about what you or your little one is going to dress up as. Cupcakes make there perfect costume for the young or the young at heart. The Food Network Magazine has directions for making you own cupcake costume.

My only issue with the design was that the cupcake liner portion is made out of cardboard. No problem if you are walking around but you would have some trouble if you needed to sit, say when it’s “wear your costume to school day.” But if you get creative I’m sure there is a solution, maybe a corduroy skirt instead of the cardboard?

I wish there really was a Cupcake University, I would have to be enrolled. This image is from the Cafe Press website which is unique in that you get to decide what product you want. So you could get a hoodie, but you could also get a tote bag, sticker, or mug, all depending on what you are looking for. And this is not the only cupcake image available, just typing in “cupcake” into the search box, I came up with 3,420 available cupcake designs. What I like about this design is that it reminds me of the Victoria Secret Pink line which is popular and uses the university theme.

Since it is already the middle of September, that means it is apple season. I think the perfect way to acknowledge that fall is rapidly approaching is to bake apple cupcakes.

This delicious looking recipe is courtesy of Food Network. Calling for only one apple, the apple flavor comes from an additional ingredient needed, apple butter, which is piped into the center. Apple butter does not contain any dairy, the name comes from the consistency since it is so think and spreadable. It can easily be made at home or when short on time, it can be bought from most grocery stores. The cupcakes are finished with a cream cheese frosting and in the picture they are garnished with an apple sliver.

Fans of HBO’s True Blood will enjoy Sweet Paul’s True Blood inspired cupcakes.

These Vanilla Cupcakes with Raspberry Jam look perfect to sink your teeth into as you settle in for an episode with your favorite vampires. And what might be the best part, aside from actually getting to eat the cupcakes is that it is a fairly simple and straight forward recipe without the fuss of fancy decorating.

This is a combination of two of my favorite things, an adorable hedgehog that loves cupcakes. It was created by APAK, an “art team” comprised of a husband and wife who work to create unique art. Chronicle Books published a mini card set with the design. The set contains a total of 18 cards, six of each of the three designs for $14.95.

My sister was lucky enough to spend the summer in Ireland and I was lucky enough to get cupcake souvenirs out of it. As everyone knows, the best way to welcome guests into your home is with cupcakes but when fresh baked cupcakes are not a possibility, a cupcake door mat like the one I was given is the perfect alternative.
My other souvenir was this cute set of cupcake coasters that are great. The coasters not only serve their intended function of protecting furniture but show personal style and cupcake love. A set of four contains one coaster of each image.

These cute products are by rexhome, their site redirects you to the European retail site, where they have a whole section devoted to cupcakes. Seems American’s are not the only ones with a sweet tooth!

My coworker is getting married next month and since I’m making the cupcakes she shared with me the latest issue of Martha Stewart Weddings.

wedding cupcake ideas
The issue features an article titled: Let Them Eat Cupcakes, proving even Martha knows cupcakes are taking over. There is an eight page spread containing full page pictures of creative cupcakes such as the Rose and Ginger Cupcakes with Sugared Rose Petals.

There is also what could be considered the cupcake version of strawberry shortcake dessert. The cupcake has a slight twist from the original summer dessert in that it consists of a strawberry rhubarb compote.

These cupcakes have been deemed wedding appropriate. But as with all cupcakes, they are suitable for any occasion. On the Martha Stewart website, there are recipes to all the cupcakes in the article in addition ideas for displaying the latest wedding trend.
