If you were born in the 80’s or earlier, maybe you remember Cupcakes dolls? I do! They were cute little girls wearing big frilly gowns and bonnets, each uniquely scented like a different confection. When you flipped their underside out, they turned into cupcakes! These little dolls are quite the collectors items, only available second hand and places like ebay. A quick search unearthed a number of fan sites boasting huge collections of these scented 90’s treasures- my favorite being this one!

All this digging lead me to another cupcake related toy from the late 80’s- Cherry Merry Muffin!

Now I DEFINITELY remember this one! I wanted to collect them all :) It looks like the cupcake crazy isn’t quite a new thing- Cherry Merry had created quite the empire back 20 years ago. Check out MerryMuffinLand.net for some very comprehensive info on the toy classic and all her friends (who could forget Chocolottie and Penny Peppermint?)

Last year during an impromptu trip to Los Angeles, I begged my husband to go to Robertson Boulevard in West Hollywood. A strip of overpriced boutiques and restaurants, I was in Hollywood Fan-Girl Heaven. I felt like such a starlet walking into Kitson, which was obviously my first stop. T-Shirts and the like rang in at a whopping $65+ so I sadly left empty handed, but the buzz in that place was that of over the top girlyness and decadence. I loved it! You don’t have to hit the streets of LA to get in on the Kitson Goodness though!
This pair of mittens will surely get you through the remaining winter months in sassy cupcake style! $48 at shopkitson.com

Have a DIY cupcake party!

Flickr user t-dawg says-
“for kate’s bday, i wanted to make cupcakes, but i couldn’t decide which cake/frosting configuration to make. so i decided to let everyone choose! i made vanilla and chocolate cupcakes, and vanilla bean, chocolate, and coffee frosting, and let people frost their own cupcakes. so delicious. “
I think this is great idea for a fun, creative, and TASTY party! Even your most fickle friends will find a flavor combo they love when they’re the one’s putting them together. Maybe even a station with different decorations, sprinkles and toppers? Don’t forget to bring a camera :)

These took me a second to fully appreciate. I was trolling through flickr, and I came across these darling little faces, and the photo was entitled ‘crowning cupcakes’. I stopped, thought about it… and realized those were BABIES crowning! How clever! Flickr user Crafty Beaver says they were a hit at a baby shower she attended.

I was greeted this morning as I strolled in to work at the crack of noon, by a Christmas gift from my lovely boss. She found cupcake toe socks! Being a lover of cupcakes AND toe socks, she really hit the nail on the head with these! Judging by the “No Boundaries” tag, I’m guessing they’re from Wal-Mart which means they probably didn’t cost more than a few dollars. Awesome!

They say “Sweet & Delicious” in case you’re wondering :)

They’re called the Cupcake Heaven Baking Cups and they’re only 1.99 at Wilton.com! I also found them in person at Michaels for the same price.

How do I love thee, let me count the ways…
Photos don’t do this item justice because they doesn’t capture the subtle sparkle of the paper that the cupcake is decorating! This adorable mini stationery set comes with 8 sheets of stationery, 4 envelopes and 4 cupcake stickers. Each sheet of stationery measures approximately 4.25″ x 5.5″ and is printed on high quality card stock. All sugar lily stationery sets come packaged in a clear cellophane sleeve.
Find this at ShanaLogic.com!

Ah Nordstrom, the bane of my checking account. A quick search came up with several cupcake themed gems. Juicy Couture, known cupcake-loving company, has this lovely set of panties packaged in usable pink silicone baking cups.
Cupcake rain boots are all the rage. I have my pair- do you? While these are a little more spendy than the ones at Target, they’re adorable, and assuredly comfy.
Not sure what to give the cupcake enthusiast who has it all? Now you can send a cupcake themed virtual Nordstrom gift card to the recipient of your choice!
