This week we had some hot cupcake spottings by a few of our loyal fans and I just had to pass them on to you.

The Disney Store  just recently began selling this adorable line of Minnie Mouse cupcake items.   Thanks Christine for letting us know about them!

Etsy just seems to love cupcakes this summer!   Tonight they will be hosting a get together at their labs in Brooklyn, NY.  Crafters will learn how to make cute needle felted pinback buttons, embroidered cards and enjoy cupcakes from 4-8pm.  If you don’t live in the New York area, you can join them at 5pm ET in their virtual lab.   I am planning on joining in online so please look for my avatar (shop icon) and say hello!

I just had my third kiddo less than two months ago. I love the whole process of putting together really fun and personal birthday parties for my children and that includes the cake (or cupcakes). Every week I meet fans our Facebook page and on this main site that have little girls and love to dress them in our precious sweets. I too am included in this wonderful group of moms who have turned their daughters into walking advertisements for cupcakes. There are so many clothes lines out there now for our little princesses that have cupcakes on them.   Just looking in my daughter’s closet today, I counted no less than 15 cupcake shirts, dresses and pants.  I also even had a cupcake birthday party for her just a few years ago.   Well, what about the little men out there? Where are their cupcake items? Are they doomed to Spiderman and Thomas the Tank Engine (my son wears both!) or can they too share in the cupcake fun? Well, I went hunting on Etsy today and found some great items for the boys in our lives!

Longtime ATC friend Green Party Goods has recently come out with a new line of mini cupcake stands.  I just love these new additions and think they would be perfect for your next cupcake gathering!  Look for another Green Party Goods giveaway coming this fall.

I recently went looking for a baking cookbook for a friend and found a great site called Snubbr,  a recommendation site.  You ask them for recommendations, and they’ll find an expert to give you advice on what to buy.   Check them out here.

I decided on one of our fan favorites (and mine too!),  Hello Cupcake! 

I love this book and am amazed by the clever use of ordinary food.  The step by step photos allow those visual learners (like me) to succeed in making wonderful looking cuppies.   My personal favorites are the spaghetti and meatballs and the pumpkins!  So many cupcakes for so many different ocassions.

Spring time is often a wet and muddy time of year. So what can you do with your kids outside to make the best of it?  How about making some mud cupcakes! Check out this “recipe” from Family Fun.

The classic mud pie needs no improving, but there may be days when your kids want to get more creative with their dirty work. That’s when old kitchen supplies come in handy, for these decorative cupcakes or for a more utilitarian variation: Mud Bricks.

Materials:

• Cupcake liners
• Cupcake pan

• Mud
• Nature objects (we used berries, flowers, and pebbles)

1. Simply place liners in a cupcake pan and fill them with mud batter, then decorate the cakes with natural objects, such as berries, flowers, and pebbles.
