In case you missed it, here it is again! Yesterday, Jerry Seinfeld surprised Regis and Kelly with what Kelly coined a “megacupcake.” It did look delicious, and the three of them were not shy about digging in! The cupcake was created by Crumbs Bake Shop.

Just found these adorable bunny cupcakes on Joanna Si’s Flickr stream. Are they cute or what? And I am one of coconut’s biggest fans!

Lovely ATC reader Jessica just sent us pictures of her Superbowl cupcakes! The first are vanilla cake, filled with chocolate chip cookie dough and topped with vanilla frosting. The second are chocolate cake filled with chocolate ganache and topped with chocolate frosting. Yum! Thanks for sharing, Jessica!

This is truly hilarious, and ATC thanks Alison of AliCakes for sharing them with us. Asked to bake for a “swim” themed baby shower, Alison got creative (and a little crazy). The cupcakes are rated G, but the cake? Adults only.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the hot new thing is Lasagna Cupcakes. While I’m a cupcake purist, and am excited by a simple chocolate chocolate, these do look delicious. These beauties are the creation of Heirloom-LA, a catering company in Eagle Rock, California. And yes, I know what you’re thinking — people do eat them with their hands. De-lish.
Dana Fox, the screenwriter of “Couples Retreat” and “What Happens in Vegas” offered her wedding guests lasagna cupcakes. I’m wondering how those fared with her (I’m assuming here) white dress.

I’ve just fallen in love with a new children’s book. I am sort of obsessed with children’s books anyway, and this one is just irresistible.
It starts out with, “If you give a cat a cupcake, he’ll ask for some sprinkles to go with it. When you give him the sprinkles, he might spill some on the floor. Cleaning up will make him hot, so he will need a bathing suit …” The story goes on, with the poor child waiting on the cat, all because of that first cupcake.
The book is part of a series that includes If You Give a Mouse a Cookie and If You Give a Pig a Party.
If you are like me, and you read the same books every night until you want to cry, this one is a good pick. And if you don’t have little ones begging for books, this makes a great gift for someone who does! It is available from Better World Books for $13.98.

I just found these at
One India Living, and couldn’t believe how fast and simple they are to make! No fondant needed, just unwrap a bite size candy bar, and “insert” it into cupcake. Then frost around the candy bar. You an also use frosting to stick facial features to the candy bar. These cupcake artists used jelly beans for eyes and nose, and m&m’s for ears and stache, but you use just about anything. A crushed Oreo serves as “dirt” from the groundhog’s hole. Too cute!
Happy Groundhog Day! Enjoy the rest of winter, ahem, I mean, spring!

My husband says I can’t have any more stickers, so I’m out of luck, but I thought I would pass this opportunity to y’all. What opportunity? To make everyone who sees your sticker laugh! At least, it made me laugh. Hard. I’ll do a lot for a cupcake, but the dark side? … what kind of cupcake?
This vehicle sticker is available from Cool Custom Design via Amazon for $4.

Tiny Dog Cupcakes is a new cupcakery in Evanston, Illinois. The new bakery is located at 616 Davis Street, and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 to 8. They currently offer 14 flavors, including: Dark Chocolate Minty, Vanilla Vanilla, The “TinyDog” Triple Chocolate Mocha, and the Barking Blueberry, pictured here. More flavors are on the way. But there’s more to Tiny Dog than a cute name and scrumptious cupcakes. A portion of all their profits will go to a good cause, so you can feel good about treating yourself at the Tiny Dog.

I’ll admit, I’m not usually one to read the business news, but yesterday, an article in Business Insider caught my attention. (Or maybe it was the picture.) The article, Here’s How Cupcakes Became America’s Favorite Sweet Treat, could also be called “Cupcake Fairytale” or “The Cupcake’s Meteoric Rise to the Top.” The engrossing article highlights some of America’s favorite cupcakeries, and looks at the rise of the cupcake from a business perspective. What shocked me were the dollar signs. I tend to take life one cupcake at a time, taking the time to stop and smell the cupcakes, if you will, but this article taught me that for some people: cupcakes is big business!

Are these cute or what? They’re billed as party favors, but I’m pretty sure I could justify the purchase of the set for just myself. Cute little chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and raspberry cupcakes. I would drive people crazy playing with the little flip-tops. This gift set is going for $12.50 these days at Amazon.

I’m not really sure I want my car to smell like cupcakes. I think I have enough problems. But to each his or her own, I guess. There are probably worse things for a car to smell like — soccer cleats comes to mind.
I found this cute rearview mirror jewelry at Accoutrements.

My New Years Resolution is to start being on time for things. The first step might be having at least one clock in my house that works. So, I began the search for a cupcake clock and I cannot believe how many choices there are out there! Here are some of my favorites.

Is there something wrong with me that I really want this shirt? And is the unicorn supposed to be, ahem, “expelling” the cupcakes, or is that just one unfortunate interpretation? Either way, I think it is hilarious. If you have the same (possibly weird) sense of humor, you too can find one of these t-shirts at Cafe Press for $12.

Even though I never wear an apron, I’m still in love with this one from Flirty Aprons. Maybe it’s time I got a little bit more domestic. This Frosted Cupcake Apron costs $34.95 and appears to be worth every penny.

How would you like to sink your fork into potato focaccia cupcakes with cream cheese and goat cheese icing? That’s what was served at Little Cupcake Bakeshop recently in an effort to raise funds and awarness for the Endangered Species Coalition. Eat a cupcake — save a polar bear? What can beat that?

I just found the coolest blog! The blog ingeniously brings together two of my favorite things: books and cupcakes! Now, why didn’t I think of that! Blogger Becky rates books, giving them 1-5 cupcakes. How cute is that? Now, why didn’t I think of that? Happiness is a good book and a freshly frosted cupcake! Brilliant!

This jumbo cupcake magnet can be found at Accoutrements. They recommend it for a fridge or filing cabinet, but because it is so HUGE, I’m thinking it would look pretty cool on my car.
