Halloween always comes up quickly once it becomes October and since it is September, that means it is time to get thinking about what you or your little one is going to dress up as. Cupcakes make there perfect costume for the young or the young at heart. The Food Network Magazine has directions for making you own cupcake costume.

My only issue with the design was that the cupcake liner portion is made out of cardboard. No problem if you are walking around but you would have some trouble if you needed to sit, say when it’s “wear your costume to school day.” But if you get creative I’m sure there is a solution, maybe a corduroy skirt instead of the cardboard?

I often have a difficult time figuring out a great gift for baby showers. After all, not only the baby receiving this gift, but the mom as well. Typical gifts such as infant toys, baby consumables, gift certificates are all good choices, but they seem to be a little lacking in imagination.
Diaper cupcakes present a convenient solution. It is both imminently practical, has visual impact as a gift, and entirely customizable to any theme relevant for the baby and family you have in mind.
If you like craftsy or hands-on projects, these step-by-step instructions will help you get started. Here are some diaper cupcake visuals to inspire your creativity:
Of course professionally made cupcakes gifts are also available. One vendor, Baby Sweet Treat, makes not only cupcakes, but sundaes and lollipops as well.

One day you found a cupcake liner for a race of giants. What would you do with the liner?
In actuality, Sweet Cake is the XXL version. Sweet Cake is an amusing eye-catcher, no matter how you choose to use it. It´s an absolute all-rounder, whether it´s used as a pet bed, planter, mini sandbox, a kid´s wading pool or even as a tiny garden pond.

The liners are sold at a german site at design-3000.de.

Kacie is a talented artist who sent us some photos of her cupcake-inspired works. She owns a shop in south Texas named Rowdy Maui. Although her website is still under construction, it sure is bold and beautiful. On her website is a quote, “Well behaved women rarely make history.” ATC whole-heartedly agrees.

I just found your website and I am in love! My friend and I made these “cuppy-cake and stud-muffin” costumes for our schools after-prom party. At my school everyone goes all out for costumes and ours was the most original! I thought yall might enjoy the costumes and please pass the idea along to anyone! We made them out of laundry baskets covered in folded poster board, and used polyfil fibers (like pillow stuffing) for the icing! the decorative ribbon straps were stapled around the basket and we crafted the sprinkles out of colored packing peanuts and puff balls. to get the polyfill to stay in place we used clear polyurethane spray, and brown spray paint for the muffins. We had a hard time figuring out how to make the costume, but baked real cupcakes at the same time to make it more enjoyable. Although they were really cute, they are kind of a hassle to wear for a long period of time. Let me know if there are any more questions. The website is WONDERFUL and in a few weeks I will hopefully be sending a picture of my cupcake tattoo (once i get it….). Oh, and same day that we made the costumes I got a new kitten named Cupcake! <3

Thank you Linda Marie for sharing with us. What an imaginative idea for costumes!

Stayhomecupcake is giving away a Cupcake Play Food or Pin Cushion with Cupcake Pins to one lucky winner! It’s her birthday today (it really is!) and she is celebrating by giving a present to one of you.
What the winner will receive…
1- Cupcake Play Food or Pin Cushion with Cupcake Pins
This yummy little pink and brown crocheted cupcake will hold all your pins but may make you hungry at the same time! It is made with acrylic yarn and measures 3″ high and 3 1/2″ wide. It comes with 6 (size 24-1/2) nickel-plated steel long pearlized pins (the sprinkles) and 2 polymer clay cupcake pins. It is filled with fiberfill. The pink icing is actually a little lighter than the photos show.
This can also be used as a toy cupcake. If you would like this as a play cupcake for your little one, I’d be happy to send it without the pins.
To enter this giveaway please visit Stayhomecupcake and then come back to ATC and leave a comment to this post telling us about what your favorite item that you saw on her site was.
This giveaway is open to residents of USA and Canada. A winner will be chosen via random.org on Tuesday June 9th.
I would like to thank Stayhomecupcake for creating and donating the gorgeous prize for this giveaway…and Happy Birthday!!! :)

We received these images and this email from ATC Reader Ms Bubblefish…
Hi, Just looooooove getting daily updates on your cupcake site.
Thought I’d share pics I took of my knitted cupcakes plus other cupcake paraphernalia. For some deeply obscure reason, I find that knitting and decorating cupcakes is divinely relaxing and non-fattening.
Thank you for sharing your Knitted Cupcakes Mosiacs with us! They are awesome!

With Mother’s day around the corner, here is an excellent DIY suggestion from Theresa Wong at thestar.com.my. As delectable as these cupcake boxes may seem, they are in fact not edible. They are merely paper mache containers for little treasures hidden inside of them!
All of the materials (ingredients) needed can be found at your local crafts store. Click here for step by step DIY instructions.
As with any other english speaking country, the english language may be the same, but the terminology may be different. Below are some terms that I had to scratch my head a little to figure out:
Foam fruit net = foam net that protects fruit
Paper cake cases = paper cupcake liners
Patty tin = muffin tin

We received these photos and this email from ATC Reader Natalia…
“My name is Natalia,I’m 17-year-old girl and I live in a huge city called Sao Paulo, here in Brazil.
Yeah, Brazil… (sorry about the terrible English)
A third world country full of different cultures, and different people, but poor in cupcake stuff, where most of the people don’t know what a cupcake is, so they’ll never understand me *laughs*
First I want to congratulate you for the site, I’m in love with it (it was love at the first visit for sure), and when I saw the cupcake tattoo photos , I immediately thought ”OMG I need to show mine”, mostly because It’s very rare to see a cupcake freak here in Brazil, but they do EXIST! I’m here to prove it.
I would be very happy to see my tattoo on ATC…
And if you want to see, I do some handmade stuff with polymer clay or felt, and of course, there are cupcakes there! here’s my flickr
Thank you for the attention, and again, congratulations for the great job.
Thanks for sharing your cupcake tattoo and flickr with us! Your tattoo is gorgeous! I love your polymer clay and felt creations.
