This adorable cupcake helmet is only $22!  I love all the lollipops, candy and cupcakes but the best part has to be the cherry on top!   It is available in most stores and online.  Too bad it is made for kids ages 8 and up because I would totally wear this!

I have come to count on Walmart to have a few cupcake products every time I go in the store.  I was excited to find the cupcake cups shown above for only $0.97 in the party section.  They also had robots if you are looking for favors for girls and boys.

Walmart’s Hallmark Card section had several cupcake items including the cupcake gift bag shown above.  The bag came in three different sizes, the middle size cost $2.97.  There was also a pack of glitter cupcake stickers, shown to the right, that would make fun party favors or an easy gift if you include them with a birthday card.

Fire Baked Cupcakes

Posted by on Tuesday, June 12th, 2012

Reading CandidCupcakes post about s’more cupcakes got me thinking about the orange grilled cupcakes I blogged last summer.  I started wondering if there were any recipes or ideas on how to bake a cupcake over a campfire.  After looking around I found an Ohio 4-H camp activity lesson plan.  The lesson plan is part of the outdoor cooking session under the cooking with foil portion.  In this session campers learn about cooking with conduction by experimenting with cupcakes.  The directions read like a science experiment where you are supposed to brainstorm and plan your methods first then attempt baking the cupcakes inside fruit bases wrapped in foil.  Similar to the orange grilled cupcakes but instead of a grill you use a bed of coals or the embers of a wood fire.  Any brave camp counselors or parents willing to try grilled cupcakes this summer? Just check out the Ohio 4-H website for the PDF with the directions.

Glowing Cupcakes

Posted by on Monday, May 21st, 2012

Summer is rapidly approaching and staying outside late, playing with neighborhood friends, is one of my fondest memories of childhood summers.  As kids we would catch fireflies and these glowing cupcakes remind me of the firefly’s glow.  I know that Food Snots originally made these cupcakes for Halloween and there a great idea to store away for the fall but I think these cupcakes would be fun to make on a summer night.  Tonic Water and neon food coloring are among the ingredients used to make these cupcake’s frosting glows!

Cupcake Gummies

Lately I have seen gummy candy in various shapes, I even bought a friend butterfly gummies but I have yet to see cupcake gummies in a store near me.  I managed to find blue cupcake gummies online on Crystals Rose Cottage Chic.  For $6.00 you can order a dozen cupcake gummies to use as party favors or cupcake toppers.  I think any kid would love to sink their teeth into a cupcake gummy!

I have been cautioned by friends in regards to purchasing food from websites with caution so you might want to check with the website owner on their food safety practices before finalizing your purchase.

Posted by on Friday, April 6th, 2012

I recently saw this fun display of cupcake necklaces and was excited to find the cupcake shaped gift box and necklace available on Amazon.  Even better, the necklaces from Amazon by Cupcake Cuties are half the price of the retail store I originally saw it in.  All the necklace pendants are the same but the cupcake shaped boxes are different.  The color options include green, purple, pink, or blue on top and yellow or brown for the base.
