I am a huge fan of Real Simple since they always have great recipes, tips, and ideas. I love this simple cupcake decorating idea where the cupcake is topped with cotton candy and called a sticky fingers cupcake! Such an easy idea that takes a basic frosted cupcake to the next level. Real Simple suggests a vanilla cupcake but you could always go for the extra sweetness and make a cotton candy flavored cupcake! Don’t forget to look at the 9 other ideas including S’more and PBJ!

I must say that cupcakes are one of the hardest baked goods to transport. They have to be separated individually so they frosting doesn’t get ruined and its really hard to stack cupcakes one on top of the other without ending up with smashed cupcakes! As we all know there are tons of different types of cupcake holders out there to fix this dilemma. But I must say that this is the most creative one that I have seen and the most fun.

We LOVE Cupcake Wars in our house! My little one makes me put it on as soon as we get home EVERY single day!
I really liked the cupcake pedestals. Very cute! I think it would be nice to see some sort of candy/carnival themed kit!

This is so smart! I just found these adorable Easter critter cupcakes at CantonRep.com. Who knew that a donut hole could double as a cute bunny head or chick head? Brilliant! For full decorating instructions, visit the article: Easter Treats: Bunny Cupcakes and Chick Cupcakes.
This week’s giveaway comes from a virtual celebrity in the cupcake world! Dollhouse Bake Shoppe’s founder, Lindsay Morton, was the very first winner on Food Network’s hit show, Cupcake Wars. She has taken her sweets from local to national in the blink of an eye and is now selling more than just cupcake products on her adorable site. I received the Cupcake Confetti Kit and adored how everything I needed was right there! One of my favorite things was the adorable box the items came in!
-All natural, gourmet chocolate frosting mix -Decorating bag to pipe a professional swirl of icing
-Premium rainbow sprinkles topping/mix-in pouch
-Dollhouse Bake Shoppe cupcake carrier box
I made these cupcakes with my kids and they were very moist and delicious. The directions were easy too follow and you only needed to add a few of your own ingredients. The cuppies did not stay around my house for very long!
This week, Dollhouse Bake Shoppe is giving away one cupcake kit to a lucky ATC fan! I have made donut muffins in the past and now that I found this chocolate dipped donut cupcake recipe I think I will have to try donut cupcakes. They fit perfectly into the breakfast cupcake kick I have been on. It started with stuffed pancake cupcakes which was followed by cinnamon roll cupcakes. Now these donut cupcakes which I saw on The Family Kitchen but originally came from The Fannie Farmer Baking Book, have been added to the list!
The winner of the One Haute Cupcake Charm from Sweet Bling is…

My 24 year old son Kyle is Autistic. He is the joy of my life. Kyle will live with me for the rest of his life and I look forward to every day with him.
He is soo funny and such a character…to hear him laugh brings a smile to everyone’s face.
We have had good days and bad days but they are all special.
I am also an avid baker and he’s my cupcake tester…even though there are no bad cupcakes if you ask Kyle!! I love all the pendants…but I’d have to pick the Live, Love, Eat cupcakes tshirt says it all.
Congratulations! Please email your mailing address to [email protected]. Thanks again to all who entered the giveaway and thank you Sweet Bling for sponsoring this wonderful giveaway. For more information on autism or how to help support children and adults living with autism, please visit TERI .
I am absolutely in love with the online store ModCloth. They always have the coolest things from jewelry, clothes and most important – baking/cooking supplies.
This week’s nerdcake isn’t so much about the design of the cupcakes, in fact these cupcakes are decorated in a very basic manner, it is more about what is done with the cupcakes. They play Tetris with the cupcakes! This fun, 39 second video was posted on Instructables and features color coded cupcakes in the form of tetris blocks. I love that when the cupcakes or blocks form a line they are eaten up!

Is Easter late or early??
Well it can be both!
Technically Easter is really late this year, I struggle to remember when it happened so far through April! But it can also be early, in that I am bringing you a few Easter ideas today! Two cool ideas that you can create at home… well even if you can’t you can let them inspire you for your own holiday celebrations!
This is a super cute idea, placing a chocolate bunny inside a sugar basket atop a cupcake. This fantastic creation is by Yummy Mummy.
These little chicks are fantastic. These are from the wonderfully creative and also surprising Hoosier Homemade!
I am not sure if the same cupcake that we eat are the best to share with our dogs. If you want to give your loving dog some cupcake love why don’t you try maybe a Cupcake Doggy Bed or a Fluffy Cupcake Doggy Toy — the best thing about these animal accouterments is that they look like real cupcakes!
This week our giveaway is from longtime ATC friend, Sweet Bling. They specialize in cupcake tees and beautiful charms.
Being that this month is Autism Awareness Month, Sweet Bling is donating 10% of the proceeds from three of their cupcake charms go directly to TERI (Training, Education & Research Institute) Inc. Teri is a non-profit agency serving the needs of children and adults with autism and other developmental and learning disabilities and their families.
To help in getting out the word about Autism Awareness, Sweet Bling is giving away their One Haute Cupcake Hand Stamped Cupcake Charm to one lucky fan!
To enter this giveaway, click on the comment area below and tell us what is your favorite item from Sweet Bling’s shop. OR click on the comment area below and tell us how autism has affected your life or the life of a loved one.
Every now and then you stumble, quite literally down and around the garden path, to discover something very unusual. This would have to be the first ever cupcake I have found which has featured wellingtons. Now I know in Australia as we head into autumn and winter the shoe stores are lining up gumboots as the second biggest fashion boot (apart from the fluffy avatar / Ugh style), but cupcakes adopting the wellington?
I guess if you do it as well as Poppy Kate has done here, then you are doing pretty well. I actually love these, they look so fun and so Spring or Fall, depending which half of the hemisphere you are in!

Have you been to Starbucks lately and noticed that they have jumped on the latest food trend bandwagon. Calling the line “Starbucks Petits” they now offer cake pops, whoopie pies, and mini cupcakes. I know Starbucks have had cupcakes for some time now but I hadn’t had the opportunity to try them but this past week. I saw the little peanut butter cupcakes and had to try one; I was pleasantly surprised by how good the cupcake was. The chocolate cupcake was moist, the peanut butter frosting flavor complimented the chocolate cake perfectly and wasn’t too sweet. And I liked the half of a mini peanut butter cupcake on top of the cupcake. The mini cupcakes also come in carrot cake.
I’m not sure how I feel about Starbuck’s following the common trends. I think that mini food items are cute so the whoopie pies look really cute but is it too much? Are cake pops and cupcakes any less special because they are available at Starbucks, a worldwide franchise that is easily accessible. Or are these new menu items a benefit that make getting some of our nations favorite food trends easier at one of our most well liked coffee shops? I’m still torn.
Although the weather is pretty chilly this week here on the East Coast of the United States, I am dreaming of warmer temperatures and playing outside with my kids. I think this cupcake ball would complete the fun!

A quick run to my local Target tonight resulted in an exciting cupcake find. Katie Daisy who is the artist behind the Etsy shop, The Wheatfield has teamed up with target to create a line of spring themed products. Theres gift bags, roll wrap, tissue paper, paper plates, napkins, invitations, frames, table runners and place mats. The most important product are the Katie Daisy cupcake liners. I found them in the seasonal section which is currently filled with Easter items. The regular cupcake liners come in a 75 count pack and the mini baking cup 100 count pack, both cost $1.99 each.
