I would like to dedicate this post to my niece, who is the biggest Justin Beiber fan in the whole world. (Just ask her.) I’ll admit, his hair does look pretty yummy here. Chocolate?

This cupcake was created by Sam’s Cake Factory of Karachi, Pakistan. Sam’s “transforms dreams into cake art.” Awesome!

If I had a little girl, I just might have to invest in these Fancy Frill Cupcake Diaper Covers. If you want to dress your little one up as cute as a cupcake, or if you’re searching for the perfect baby shower gift, check these out at Bed Bath & Beyond. They even come in cupcake packaging, so they would be all set to go for a shower!

Okay, so maybe I’m a tad obsessive, but I just can’t get enough of Shaun the Sheep! And I think these might be my favorite Shaun cupcakes so far. Does that frosting not look delicious! Those are some sheep that I could shear quickly! This photo is courtesy of Lisa Scranton’s Flickr photostream, where you can also find lots of other cool cake stuff!

OK, so maybe it’s still a tad bit early to start thinking about going back to school, but this is a pretty cute idea, and it doesn’t hurt to get started a little early. Go grab the supplies at your nearest Michael’s and plan a day to make these cupcakes. You could also make the cupcake stand to go with them if you’re feeling extra crafty. Maybe it will get your kids excited about the upcoming school year!

I have been buying and selling on Etsy for several years and everyday I am amazed by the skill of the many crafters there. Today I have to share with you one of the best polymer play artists I have ever seen. Check out these amazing cupcake buttons by Ayarina Designs. Wouldn’t they look perfect with something sewn in the cupcake fabric I shared in this post a few week ago?

I am a huge fan of Pinterest but at times I find my self clicking that “repin” and “like” buttons a little too much. I have so many baked goods pins right now there is no way I will ever get around to making them all! I have started to wonder with all the pins going around if things actually work, do the instructions for the DIY projects produce homemade items that look like the pictures? Do the recipes turn out to be as awesome as they look? I found Pintrosity, which claims that not all pins work out the way we hope they would.
The original pin, which I even have saved to my cupcake board, tells you to “Bake cupcakes for 5 minutes and then drop a Hershey Kiss in the center and continue baking. It sinks to the middle and makes a chocolate center!” According to Pintrosity, the cupcakes failed miserably. Years ago I made the red velvet cupcakes from Woman’s Day magazine that called for Hershey’s kisses in the batter before baking. When I saw the kisses in cupcakes idea on Pinterest I thought back to these cupcakes and how the kiss turned out hard. I thought the shortened baking time would help make the kiss soft and melty but Pintrosity says otherwise. Has anyone else tried these cupcakes? Did you end up with a chocolate center or a hard piece of chocolate? Any other Pinterest cupcake fails our there?

I love the ombre effect trend that is popular right now! Between the celebrity hair styles and the Pinterest DIY ideas the ombre effect seems to be everywhere! Even stores like The Container Store have jumped on board with their ombre colored crunch cans! Somewhere Splendid definitely knows what’s popular right now! They blogged about how to make ombre effect vanilla cupcakes! You obviously don’t have to make your cupcakes blue like the picture, you can choose any color you like! These would be very cute for a baby shower!

I have always loved back to shopping; there is something about starting off the school year with all new products that I enjoyed. On a quick trip to Target over the weekend I found several cupcake items in their back to school section! There are dollar cupcake notebooks, composition journals, and folders. I also spotted two cute little cupcake coin purses that are also only $1.00. There was a pack of pencil erasers which included cupcakes for $1.99.

Most of us probably agree that ice cream is a wonderful summer treat. And of course, all of us agree that cupcakes are a wonderful treat no matter what season it is. So, what better combination than a Sugary Sweet Ice Cream Cupcake? These look extremely easy, and I love how you could do a number of toppings or different ice cream flavors to change things up a bit.

While perusing through Target today I was so excited to see something I have never seen before. This adorable cupcake helmet is only $22! I love all the lollipops, candy and cupcakes but the best part has to be the cherry on top! It is available in most stores and online. Too bad it is made for kids ages 8 and up because I would totally wear this!

These piña colada cupcakes not only look to be a tasty summer treat, but they are also claimed to be a heart smart recipe. With fat-free whipped topping, fat-free cake mix, and no egg yolks, this recipe certainly has some health perks (not to mention all the nutrients found in pineapple).
And what’s that stuff on top, you might be wondering? That’s toasted coconut. Yum!

Bloomsbury’s, a cafe specializing in boutique cupcakes and other sweets, opened at the Dubai Mall last week. At the opening ceremony, The Most Expensive Edible Cupcake, named “The Golden Phoenix”, was unveiled. The cupcake is valued at $1,010 and comes on a 24 carat gold cake stand.
What makes this cupcake so valuable, you might be wondering? Ms. Shafeena Yusuff Ali, in her quest to create the world’s most expensive cupcake, used these five expensive ingredients: Doves organic flour from the UK, Rachel’s organic butter from the UK, Amedei Porcelena cocoa from Italy, Gold Ugandan vanilla beans, and an edible 23 carat gold sheet.

I have been a big Hostess fan ever since I was a little kid. There is something special about opening up one of their plastic packages and enjoying that overly sugary sweetness. Yum! While surfing the Hostess website today I found the coolest wedding cake ever! It took the groom only one hour to make this cake from Twinkies, Cupcakes, Ding Dongs, Ho Hos, Suzy Q’s, Sno Balls and Mini Muffins.
They also had several recipes that use the desserts to make new and different creations. I so want to try this Black Forest Dessert that is made with a whole package of Hostess cupcakes!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Independence Day! I enjoyed my day off but had a difficult time telling what day of the week it was when I returned to work today; it kept feeling like Monday! While I was out yesterday I found some Fourth of July cupcake items like this cupcake balloon at my local Kroger grocery store. I also saw very cute Uncle Sam cupcakes at our local Whole Foods. Did anyone celebrate with patriotic cupcakes?

Some of these cupcakes have been featured on ATC before, but not all of them have, so take a peek at these cupcakes disguised as other food items. They are pretty deceptive if you ask me. Here are my favorites:

Try your hand at one of these or turn your favorite food into a cupcake work of art!

I know that the popular song Take Me Out to the Ballgame says “Buy me some peanuts and cracker jacks”, but I think it really should say “Buy me some cupcakes and cracker jacks.” If you’re headed out to the ball field, take along these “Batter” Up Baseball Cupcakes from Duncan Hines. They are sure to be a “hit”!

Bakers Royal always has the most creative ideas! We’ve already shared with you the peppermint mocha cupcakes, the creme brulee cupcakes, and the fun cupcake pudding shooters! Naomi has come up with another great cupcake recipe that I couldn’t resist sharing; beer and pretzel cupcakes! These cupcakes are a great combination since they are salty and sweet which is very popular. I love the shared look of the pretzels and agree with Bakers Royale, it looks very dramatic! I know that girls like beer but for some reason these seem like a great cupcake idea for a guys birthday. There are also notes to turn the cupcake into a chocolate caramel pretzel cupcake if you are not a beer drinker.

Do you know who McKenna, Emily, Rebecca and Addy are? If you said yes, then you must have an American Girl doll in your home! My little one is in love with these dolls and all their clothes and fun accessories. And they have cupcake stuff too! I love this cupcake pajama set and may have to add it to my girl’s birthday list. This whole set is just $24. You can also purchase matching girl’s cupcake slippers for $22! Wonder if I could squeeze into a girl’s XL…
