I have no idea where I would wear this cupcake print dress from ASOS but if I needed a cupcake dress for something I think I’d pick this one. Compared to other cupcake dresses I have seen this one seems seems mature with the sweetheart neckline and fitted skirt. The dress is $81.81 and available in US sizes 1-12.

Do you remember the When I grow up print from Society6 that read “When I grow up I want to be a rock star-cowgirl-tap dancer-princess-school bus driver-cupcake sprinkler.” Well I was looking around Stephanie Corfee’s Etsy site thinking she looked familiar and realized that’s how I knew her! I love this Cupcake print that she has listed on her Etsy! It’s colorful, its fun, and it’s only $18.00. You can tell that Stephanie Corfee is a cupcake fan!

If you didn’t get around to planting a tree or doing something equally earthy this Earth Day, it’s not too late to make these cupcakes. The tree is a lollipop covered in green frosting and dotted with red heart sprinkles, and the ground surrounding the tree is made from crumbled oreos. Super yummy, super easy, and a great way to celebrate Mother Earth!

Wedding season is already in full swing and I am happy to report that wedding cupakes are just as popular as last year. Whether it is possibly cheaper price or the ease of sharing the cupcakes with your guests, wedding cupcakes seem to be winning out over wedding cakes. If you are also considering cupcakes for your nuptials, I found a few sites that might help you in your planning. Wedding Cupcakes is a site filled with beautiful cupcake arrangements and also has an interesting section about wedding cupcake etiquette.
And if is supplies you need, then The Smart Baker can has everything from cupcake towers to parchment paper to to car magnets to help the cuppies get to the reception safely.
FYI- did you know that our own talented All Things Cupcake contributor, Heather Lynn, is also wedding photographer? Check out her amazingly sweet wedding photos and portrait shots on her Vintage Grace Facebook page. How awesome would it be to have a cupcake expert photograph your own wedding cupcakes?!

These are most definitely not your average cupcakes! Want to know the story behind them? I will tell you this first: they are not (yet) being sold at any bakeries…at least not any that I’m aware of.
These insect-topped desserts were actually being used as promotional material to advocate the idea of eating insects as part of getting a protein-rich diet to an increasing population. The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization claims that some insects have as much protein as meat or fish. Not only that, but they are a good source of other nutrients, too.
After reading this article, I was glad to find that insects are not threatening to be the latest and most hip cupcake topper. That would gross me out! It seems that cupcakes were a way to win people over to the idea that insects could be a solution to malnutrition, which does not surprise me, because cupcakes definitely have that kind of power!

I love strawberry cupcakes, but yesterday, I decided to jazz them up a little. I used a strawberry cake mix, and filled each cupcake with sliced strawberries after they had cooled off. (I used a frozen strawberry shortcake topping.) Then, I added a mashed banana to the frosting. And honestly, I could not believe how delicious the results were. It was a like a fruit smoothie cupcake!

Will you be bacon baking cupcakes anytime soon? If you love bacon and you’re not afraid to try it in your cupcakes, then these recipes for maple bacon and chocolate bacon cupcakes might be for you. I have never personally tried this interesting combination, but I hear that it isn’t nearly as bad as it sounds, and that it’s actually quite tasty.

I just found a new toy! Duff food color pens! I found these pens, which act much more like markers, at Michaels for about $9. They are fun and easy to use, and great for kids’ decorating. But first, I used them to personalize these fondant-topped cupcakes for my friend’s birthday!

Williams-Sonoma now carries their own line of cupcakes mixes! The stores have a very fun display with all the mixes and jars of frosting. The Williams-Sonoma website now has a section called The Cupcake Shop where you will find the mixes, bakeware, and cookbooks. The mixes cost $14.95 and frosting, which is sold separately, is $19.95 per jar. The mixes are available in the following flavors: vanilla bean, chocolate, red velvet, coconut, and meyer lemon. The frosting is available in the same flavors with the exception of red velvet. I have enjoyed the Williams-Sonoma products I have tried in the past so I have high hopes for these mixes.

Check out this handmade polymer clay cupcake pendant from Be Fearless. Isn’t she talented? In case you need one of your own, she walks you through the entire process on her blog! I think I need one, but I don’t think I’m artistic (or patient) enough to pull this off.

Take a look at this cupcake handbag. Anybody recognize it? It is the look-alike of the famous cupcake handbag from the second Sex and the City film. For just 3,950 British pounds it can be yours at Harrod’s. But seriously, doesn’t everyone need their own cupcake bag?

Several Tuesdays in a row now I have parked in a plaza near a store front with a sign that reads Sweet Memories Bakery. I have been intrigued to see what the bakery offers but until today had not ventured inside. I was extremely happy I made decision to check out the bakery when I realized it was a cupcake shop! Sweet memories had a case full of cupcakes, all were unique flavors. I decided to ask for some advice on which flavors are popular to help make my choice a little easier. It was definitely a good idea to listen to the suggestions because I loved the four cupcakes I purchased.

Oreo Cupcake

White Chocolate Raspberry
The four flavors I chose were Oreo, Southern Aristocrat, Casada, and White Chocolate Raspberry. Each cupcake had a mousse filling which wasn’t overly sweet, making it a nice compliment to the sweet cake and frosting. The Oreo cupcake was a chocolate cake with buttercream frosting and Oreo mousse. Southern Aristocrat was a sweet potato cake filled with caramel and white chocolate mousse, topped with dulce leche buttercream. Casada was a white cake with a chocolate chip cannoli cream and topped with an amaretto buttercream. The white chocolate raspberry was a white cake filled with raspberry and white chocolate mousse, topped with buttercream frosting. Continue reading »

I am not the biggest fan of beets, so I can’t expect my kid to love them. BUT, I can pretty much guarantee that he will have no idea that they are in these cupcakes. Even if your child helps you with this recipe, they will probably be so mesmerized by their really vibrant purple color, that they won’t even think about the fact that they are eating their veggies. It’s worth a try! But do be aware…beets can make quite a mess (just one more reason your kids will love them, right?)!

Living Royal is a unique and unusual gift idea website. If you are looking for a funny gift or a gag gift this is the website for you! The website has tons of fun items like this fingertip microwave grip which I could use every time I reach into the microwave. The best part is the website offers several cupcake items including the cupcake memo pad that ATC was sent to review. The memo pad measures 3.5 inches tall and includes 150 little sheets of paper that half a cupcakes. The memo pad is currently on sale for $3.50.

I really liked the memo pad. I thought it was a great size, it’s big but not too big and the sheets of paper are just the right size for a quick note. At the current sale price of $3.50 the memo pad is a great buy. The one flaw I noticed was that in my little test of the paper I notice that my marker pen bled through the paper. It’s not a big deal since ballpoint pen did not run through. I would also caution people to be careful when ripping off the pages; it’s easy to end up with a ripped cupcake. Continue reading »

These glass pedestal stands from Pottery Barn would work great to show off a lovely cupcake, or any dessert for that matter. I love their elegance and simplicity. They not only make a beautiful showcase for your favorite cupcakes, but they also keep them fresh.
