How sweet it is.  Kelly Ripa, talk show host, and veteran of the school bake sale scene, used her new Electrolux range to bake a signature batch of cupcakes to kick off a digital campaign to help fight ovarian cancer.  For every virtual cupcake sent at electroluxappliances.com this February, Electrolux will donate a $1 to The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. 

Along with sending a virtual cupcake this Valentine’s Day, Electrolux is selling “Wear Your Heart on Your Sleeve” T-shirts, designed by Ripa, on its Web site (www.electroluxappliances.com)  For each T-shirt sold, 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the OCRF to support research to find a cure.

And to top it off, Electrolux is auctioning off a one-of-a-kind red kitchen suite on eBay.  The bidding on the “Red Hot Red” kitchen – which includes a built-in range, dishwasher, refrigerator and microwave – starts Wednesday, February 11th at 3 p.m. EST and lasts until 3 p.m.  EST on Wednesday, February 18th.  All proceeds of the charity auction benefit the OCRF as part of Electrolux’s commitment to help this worthy cause.

Pink Tutu Cupcake Stand by Pink Cake Box

Jodi, who shot our wedding cake for Bride & Bloom, asked us to create this 5 tier tutu cupcake stand for her daughter’s 2nd birthday party. The top of the tower is topped with an extra large cupcake and 40 cupcakes adorn the remaining tiers. The cupcake flavors were white cake with pink and white frosting.

Medical Themed Cupcakes by Pink Cake Box

A nurses hat, bandaid, stethoscope and first aid sign all decorate these cupcakes that were created for a recent graduate from nursing school. Flavors included chocolate cake with oreos and cream, white cake with chocolate filling, chocolate cake with peanut butter and vanilla cake with raspberry chambord filling. The cupcakes were setup with our 5 tier cupcake tower.

Christening Cupcake Cake

This giant cupcake with a pink wrapper and giant sprinkles and lollipops was created for a christening at the Westmount Country Club in West Paterson, NJ.

Along with the cupcake topper, we created 158 cupcakes including pink velvet with vanilla frosting, chocolate with raspberry chambord, carrot with yellow vanilla frosting, vanilla with blue hazlenut frosting, and chocolate with green mint frosting.

The entire display was setup on our 8 tier cupcake stand.

I had meant to make chocolate cupcakes for Valentine’s Day, but the cupcakes became strawberry instead. There’s strawberry and strawberry syrup in the cake. I used a bit of food coloring to get the desired color and topped off the cupcakes with my most favorite cream (Cool Whip) and white chocolate hearts.

Yes, a very favorite authour of mine has launched a wonderful cupcake party kit for kids! Do not go looking too soon though, as I know they won’t even hit my shop until March. What I can tell you is that all of her books are sold on Amazon, where you can get a feel for her awesome sense of whimsy and all things magical with kids and cupcakes. I love her to bits. Barbara’s product has been a delight to work with and taste … WOW!

My friend Lexy just got a cupcake tattoo, and said it was ok for me to share it with all of you. Here is what she wrote…

I got another tattoo done today from a relative of Brians here in Seattle. (He does it out of his basement for friends & family, so no parlor. But his first name is Mike & he lives in Seattle.)

He had done the star one on my right foot almost a year ago, but today he touched it up and added 3 more stars on the end of it. He also colored in the 2 biggest stars and a few of the little ones as well. The new one I got is on my left foot, and I freaking love it!

Both of my feet are now killing me, but the pain is so worth how great my feet are going to look in flip-flops this summer.  

I hate feet alot… But now I love mine!
