For those of you in the Northern California Bay Area, there will be the 1st Annual Rock Paper Scissors Cupcake Bake-Off! Judging will be done by you the public.  This event is sponsored by the Rock Paper Scissors Collective.

Upon entry to the event for a measly sum of $4, you will be transformed into an official judge and be given a score card, a plate, and a napkin. How sweet it is.  Kelly Ripa, talk show host, and veteran of the school bake sale scene, used her new Electrolux range to bake a signature batch of cupcakes to kick off a digital campaign to help fight ovarian cancer.  For every virtual cupcake sent at electroluxappliances.com this February, Electrolux will donate a $1 to The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. 

Along with sending a virtual cupcake this Valentine’s Day, Electrolux is selling “Wear Your Heart on Your Sleeve” T-shirts, designed by Ripa, on its Web site (www.electroluxappliances.com)  For each T-shirt sold, 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the OCRF to support research to find a cure.

And to top it off, Electrolux is auctioning off a one-of-a-kind red kitchen suite on eBay.  The bidding on the “Red Hot Red” kitchen – which includes a built-in range, dishwasher, refrigerator and microwave – starts Wednesday, February 11th at 3 p.m. EST and lasts until 3 p.m.  EST on Wednesday, February 18th.  All proceeds of the charity auction benefit the OCRF as part of Electrolux’s commitment to help this worthy cause.
